Denial might increase gravity

This is a subtle one or at least it was to me. We all have some hard truths that might mess with our core biases and often translate in denying them. Even to ourselves, not only to others.

However, we are not that good and somewhere inside they will bug us, more or less. That is where I think our own soul starts to become heavier, depressions might emerge and a general sense of unhappiness and heaviness. Similar to what I imagine increased gravity would feel for the body, the denied stuff might feel ok the mind.

Some examples? Say your kid is in the wrong school, entourage or bad habits and instead of acknowledging that and doing some hard work with them, you drop some thought terminating cliches: “it’s not that bad, kids today, there are far worst out there, etc”.

Othes could be a job compensating for personal shortcomings. Your favorite democratic party turning against its own core values, leaving you paralyzed, making up excuses as you go. Government siding with corporations or corporations polarizing wealth, so on so forth.
